God's Green Earth
It is a beautiful time of year as evidenced by these flowers that I spied on the way home from exercise this morning. Daffodils are not my favorite flower but they are the most cheerful of the spring flowers! After the long, cold, dark days of winter, the daffodils seem to be singing this hymn of the resurrection written in the 6th century by Venantius Fortunatus'
Loose the souls long prisoned, Bound with Satan's chain; All that now is fallen Raise to life again. Show Thy face in brightness, Bid the nations see; Bring again our daylight; Day returns with Thee. "Welcome happy morning!" Age to age shall say; "Hell today is vanquished, Heav'n is won today!"
Earth Day would guilt us into believing that if we are not careful, we will destroy the earth by our reckless disregard for the environment. We must stop using paper bags because we are cutting down too many trees. We must use plastic biodegradable bags. Wait! We must stop using plastic bags because they are indeed destroying the earth so it is back to paper bags. It reminds me of a contemporary worship service where they can't quite get the liturgy of the Gaia religion straight. God's Word assures us that the earth is being destroyed. In Isaiah we hear "Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies." Boy, can I identify with the phrase "wear out like a garment."

She ainna' bad theologian, eh? You should taste her cooking, too. Oh, and watch her turn ignorant children into little theologians at SS and into little educated ladies at home-school.
Takes nice pictures too.
The new catechism has a list of Christian duties under the first article such as: recycle, don't pollute, the usual litany. I taught my confirmation kids to say after each one "but don't turn it into a religion."
Personally I never recycle, it's my protest.

I have. And I can confidently endorse it. :)
