SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER
Today was the last day of official school at St. Barbara's Academy for the 2005-6 school year. Sometimes our school looks like this when math sheets are being done...
Sometimes our school looks like this when we pledge allegiance, study the Bible and catechism, sing hymns or just read books like Lily is doing.
Sometimes our school even goes on the road, especially for physical education class. This class is one of my students' favorites : )
Since this was our last day for awhile, we cleaned out the lockers. OK, we didn't actually clean out lockers; we actually cleaned off the shelf where we store some of the workbooks etc. We finished up an art project (weaving a pot holder) thanks to Uncle Nick. Then we took dear old Grandpa out to lunch for his birthday. We treated him to lunch at the Hot Dog Diner. Nothing is too good for the Dean of Students at St. Barbara's Academy : )
50% of our student population will spend the summer in Arizona with her other Grandma. The other 50% will spend her time with her grandmas here. The Head Mistress of SBA is planning on learning how to knit, cleaning out the basement, putting 10 years worth of pictures into albums and getting to my stack of reading. What would summer be without travel??? Williamsburg with my dil, Naomi, Feed My Lambs Retreat with Marina and my friend Ruth & children and then dh and I will go spelunking in KY.
Or perhaps I'll just spend the summer blogging.

Oh! Williamsburg!!! I remember that place so well from the 2002 Revelutionary War Tour we did, I hope you and Nomi have a good time there... take lots of pictures and all that good stuff. ;-) Will it be just the two of you going or are you setting up a bit of a family outting for it?

Naomi and I are meeting the rest of her family in Wmsburg. Amanda is performing there this summer. We will also be stopping to visit Aaron and family on the way there and on the way back. Hope their pool is in working order. Is it Aaron?

Have a great summer! The photo sorting is a little daunting, but so satisfying when done. Great rainy day activity -- hope we havn't used up all our rainy days for the summer :-)

Sounds like a very nice summer! So, what should I call my school? Saint Barbara's Academy for Evil Geniuses? ;) Or maybe Saint Barbara's by the Lake. That sounds nice!

Those lucky kids! I still have a very strenuous week of school left.
Out in PA we're looking forward to Naomi and your visit as you pass through.
